Numerically stable billboard text with Sg.texts for large coordinates

What is the best way to enable fast, stableTrafo text? It is possible by setting viewTrafo to identity and use a manually mapped modelview trafo array for the texts as outlined here in the bottom. Unfortunately this seems slower than for normal instanced geometry where i use this trick quite often (maybe a AVal.const path does not work?).
