dataset intensity value

What is the meaning of the intensity value at the 4th column of the Semantic3d dataset txt files?
Why they are negative number?
Are they necessary for implementing the networks?

I really do not why there are negative number, maybe these are outliers and should be removed?
Anyway, I didn't use the intensity in the code, but it should be possible to modify it to do so.

If I remember well, these are Red, Blue, Green and Label value.
