The effect of body shadowing can be considerable: a real distance of 1m can appear as 10m if a body appears in between. This would typically occur if someone wore his/her phone in the pocket. The app's impact on the person would then be to generate many false positives and potentially false negatives (to notification), and there would be a similar impact to others (which would only materialize if that person was infected).

  1. Are you asking infected people who are about to upload their TEKs how they usually carry their phones?
  2. Is this the first question asked to people who call the hotline?
  3. What is the importance of body shadowing in the data that informed the Exposure Score calculation setup? (see Open data #3)
  4. Have you done any study of habits on how the phones are carried align with gender and/or age?
