Hello! Thank you for your report. I'm having trouble reproducing the issue on my side, could you please answer the following questions so that I know better what to look for?

• What OS are you running? I see you're using Python 3.8, which should work, but is from 2019
• How did you install regrippy? Through PyPI, or by installing from master?
• Are you getting this error when installing the package, or when trying to run it?
• Could you please write down the commands you used which led to this error?
