Choosing file/s in private mode doesn't work

In 2.3.8 (fdroid, idk about GitHub) you cannot use private mode to share files, if you select something nothing happens and it still shows like you didn't select anything

When I use the private media option and share from google photos :

When I try to download one of the photos:
/media/external/images/media/1000011938/ORIGINAL/NONE/image/jpeg/1435797368: open failed: ENOENT (No such file or directory)

If I use samsung gallery to select photos nothing happens and ui shows 0 photos selectd
