I have this error now too, probably it happened after updating the extension, because at first it worked fine.
As I understand, this is not the first time here.

What extension can you recommend me as an alternative, where there are no such problems that are constantly and endlessly repeated and it is the same problem?
The extension simply stops performing the functions for which we install it.

The extension does not undergo proper testing, but everyone updates and stops working.
This situation is simply crazy and it cannot continue like this.

I'd rather think youtube keeps updating the site constantly, resulting in breaking DOM filters and such. You can't test for something that'll happen in the future, not to mention that youtube most likely aims to disable any 3rd party extensions that'll deter visitors from Youtube's preferred selection of content.

The console shows this error:

Uncaught TypeError: can't access property "parentComponent", eventSink is undefined
    menuOnTap <anonymous code>:1557
    menuOnTap <anonymous code>:63

Yeah it is no longer blocking channels via the context menu. This needs to be fixed asap.

This is the error I get when trying to block a channel via the context menu:

{C531A08F-418E-4F9B-8BD1-843BE38E9835}

and

{B8168DED-FAC7-42A1-808A-98EFA0C99430}

v0.4.5 of Blocktube was just released which does work, although still has a few bugs. However, it is not available on the Chrome or Firefox store yet.

Seriously?
Then why don’t other YouTube browser extensions break?
I have several and they work great.
Moreover, they never broke.
And this browser extension always has the same problem.
And all this clearly points to the cause of this problem - this is the extension developer.

No need to drag your delusional reasoning here any longer.

You're free not to use this one, btw.

this extension is not maintained because the author is busy and must be respected as such.

it's free software, and no maintenance is due to anyone.

Because other extensions do other stuff, buddy. I know it can get frustrating when this happens (I'm here too with the same problem) but the developer is not the culprit here, youtube is restricting its content more and more and censoring more and more while also closing in.

Take for example the scripts to bypass the age filter without login in that youtube enforces based on AI and are 99% wrong in most cases and also uses it to censor videos that are uncomfortable to certain official narratives. If you find one of those working NOW please let me know because I was using one and recently stopped working and all the rest don't work either.

If you don't know how to code, your only choice is to sit down and wait. Ranting without knowing the situation or having minimal knowledge of how things work will get you nowhere.

PS:

also uses it to censor videos that are uncomfortable to certain official narratives

They want:
A- To know WHO is watching what by enforcing logging in. This is Google for you.
B- They want to stop spread of those videos while not engaging in plain pure censorship at the public eye.

In this case, it should be removed from the store so as not to waste anyone’s time.
Isn't it true?
