Next rustc-toolchain update? #445
Comments
any ETA here? |
Sorry I've been debugging and reviewing Occlum and teaclave's EDMM features recently, I will update the rust toolchain as soon as possible. |
@volcano0dr do you happen to know what needs to be done to upgrade the nightly? Are you aware of particular breaking changes requiring refactoring in particular areas? I'm trying to have a sense of scope, and any useful guidance, before embarking on this task myself. |
I plan to complete the rust-toolchain upgrade in November. |
Pardon my impatience, @volcano0dr: we really need rustc 1.70.0 or newer and it is getting urgent. |
@brenzi I doubt that Baidu Inc. put any serious efforts into maintaining this repo, now it is almost December but the update is not happening, and no one is reviewing the PR. It seems that they put most of their resource on the Occlum. @dingelish is now working for Google and is no longer contributing to this repo. We also rely on this repo and want to hear the plan from the major contributors about the future of this project. I suggest you fork it, fix the toolchain by yourself, and create PR rather than wait for any updates. |
I noticed @volcano0dr committed changes in v2.0.0-preview-11-17 branch Support rust nightly-2023-11-17 |
Thanks for reminding us, we are also expecting the official rollout of v.2.0.0. I don't know what is missing in v.2.0.0. Are you using it right now? |
not using v2.0.0 but just noticed the toolchain was updated in v2.0.0 first |
I will focus on maintaining v2.0.0. Since some other projects are still using the master branch (such as Occlum), the upgrade of the master branch is mainly to adapt to the new version of intel-sgx-sdk. |
@volcano0dr any news on the official release of 2.0.0? We'd be tempted to switch to 2.0.0 for many other reasons too but would prefer the release to be official (and be maintained....) |
Hi @volcano0dr - we'd like to kindly ask if there's any update regarding the newer version (toolchain & SDK) as well :) |
It has been almost 11 months since the next toolchain update, and we will soon be forced to update it due to other dependencies.
Hence, I would like to ask for a toolchain update. :)
