Thanks for reporting! Seems like a MathJax issue.

Meanwhile you can switch the rendering engine to something else, e.g. SVG (Right-Click on any equation -> Math Settings -> Math Renderer -> SVG, or Common HTML).

I have reported the issue here: mathjax/MathJax#2107

So this seems to be difficult to solve in MathJax. Shall we enable user to blacklist certain page? Because the hack in this page is actually rare in Wikipedia; if user can blacklist some pages then I think it’s fine.

MathJax claims it's expected behavior, due to falling back on STIM fonts. It's also partly Wikipedia's fault for not having any latex package to overlay characters reliably.
