When I download many images, if the device has slow internet, the images come out cropped. How can I fix this?

I guess, the download times out or breaks on the bad internet connection, returns pieces of the files it managed to get, and does not handle the error all correct, as we have a couple of open tickets related to problems with error handling in download file functionality (#33, #56, #72).

I'll hardly be looking into this issue at any foreseeable future.
