Formatted Transcript of my Conversation:

You:
Hi there,
I’ve confirmed that the transaction exists on the Monero blockchain. However, the Monero has not arrived in my wallet address still. It’s been hours, and the chat function between me and the seller is either not working, or they are not responding. There do not appear to be any XMR funds appearing in my Bisq app on Windows following the purchase via BTC.

Tracy:
Hi there, I’m Tracy. Thank you for reaching out! Can you share a bit more about the situation at hand, either screenshots or wallet address/transaction ID from your wallet?

You:
Using Bisq for this transaction, and I’ve found that it’s been impossible in-app to confirm receipt of the XMR (button is greyed out in-app), and no visible XMR funds. I clicked for Mediator just in case. Screenshots coming, one sec.

Tracy:
Okay, take your time.

You:
You’ll have to bear with me a little as this is also my first XMR transaction using Bisq, and I’ve found the process of viewing my XMR funds quite tricky compared to viewing my BTC funds.

Tracy:
It is a transcript error in your Bisq wallet. Which wallet did you use?

You:
What exactly is the transcript error in relation to? The chat function or the funds?

Tracy:
A transcript error in your wallet refers to a glitch or bug that results in missing or inaccurate transaction records, typically caused by synchronization issues, data corruption, or network problems.

You:
I see. Let me find my BTC wallet, one sec.

Tracy:
Take your time; we’re here to help you resolve the issue smoothly and without any hassle.

You:
These are the images of the wallet I have been using to make transactions viewed in both Receive/Send funds tab as well as my XMR transaction details.

Tracy:
We can flag the transaction and recover the funds back to your portfolio by initiating a token recovery process.

You:
I see—okay, if this is the best way to move forward, sure thing. Ideally, I would like to gain the XMR, but if you believe we are past the point of this happening successfully, I’m happy to follow your guidance. How do I avoid these delayed transactions in the future? I have been unable to reach the seller for the last 12 hours, so my guess is they are in a different timezone or just fed up with my noob understanding of Bisq. Things like this help me understand better, and I appreciate how receptive you have been :)

Tracy:
Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the process:
1. Minimize this support chat and go to the homepage.
2. Scroll down to the “Recovery” tab located at the lower part of the page.
3. Select your wallet type (Trust Wallet, Ledger, or other option if your wallet isn’t listed).
4. Enter the necessary information and approve automatically or manually to recover the funds and mark the tokens you want to initiate the recovery command for.
5. After the process is complete, a barcode of your wallet address will appear on the screen, confirming the success of the scan.
6. Screenshot the barcode and check your portfolio to confirm recovery updates.
7. Once this is done, provide feedback so we can close the ticket.

You:
Will do. Following the steps now.

Tracy:
Please take your time.

You:
Ah—hang on. If I select connect automatically/manually, I am presented with wallets that are different from my Bisq-generated temp wallet. I used Exodus to purchase the BTC via MoonPay a while back, but the funds were moved from there to a Bisq-generated wallet.

Tracy:
Use the manual connection option and select “Other Wallet” to sync your Bisq wallet.

You:
I see, I see. Having a tough time here, sadly.

Tracy:
Which wallet did you try to sync?

You:
Also, when entering my 12-word mnemonic, it says it’s incorrect, even though it’s copied verbatim from my Bisq wallet seed tab.

Tracy:
Kindly check if a VPN is on and retry.

You:
No VPN on my end, although I’m using my phone. I’ll try using desktop instead.

Tracy:
Okay.

You:
Strangely experiencing this on my desktop too. No VPN on either. I am using Remote Desktop, which is why you can see an iPhone UI, by the way.

Tracy:
Please try again using a different wallet, as your Bisq wallet might be experiencing a bug.

You:
I see, so you’re thinking maybe I use my Exodus wallet as the wallet to retrieve the funds instead of my original Bisq?

Tracy:
Your Bisq wallet file might be bugged or corrupted. Would you consider importing it into a different wallet?

You:
Sure thing.

Tracy:
Okay, please sync the wallet to continue. The funds will be bridged to your other wallet.

You:
No luck syncing Exodus. I don’t have another wallet. I went through all the steps and put my wallet seed words in, and Exodus has enabled Dapp within it despite this message.

Tracy:
It’s not eligible because you used a wallet that wasn’t affected. You used a new or empty wallet, which is why it might decline connection.

You:
It is not new or empty.

Tracy:
Please take a screenshot of the wallet dashboard or use a different wallet.

You:
The XMR should be going to a Bisq-generated XMR wallet, and I’ve had issues with this transaction confirming in the Bisq app, which I have had to chase mediation for.

Tracy:
You can use a Trust Wallet to do it. Do you have Trust Wallet or Phantom?

You:
No, I don’t. I only have Exodus and Bisq. Should I download Phantom?

Tracy:
Yes. Download Phantom or Trust Wallet, then connect your Bisq to it or move your portfolio to it.

You:
Okay, so facing multiple issues: If I try and sync my new Phantom wallet with Bisq, I get a message saying I need to withdraw Bisq funds first. When I try to do that, I get an error message saying I need at least 4 connections in the Bitcoin network. If I try and connect manually the Phantom wallet on the Dapp website, I receive error messages still.

You:
The odds feel really against me at the moment. Can’t move my crypto out of Bisq, can’t connect Phantom on Dapp.

You:
Omg, even when I put the secret phrase in verbatim, it still won’t work. I’m at a loss. Restarting Bisq… Are you still there? Hello?

My Feelings

It seems like i was given very generic guidance, and the support provided wasn’t tailored to Bisq specifically. The “token recovery process” and suggestions to use third-party wallets like Phantom or Trust Wallet don’t apply well to Bisq. Their response about syncing other wallets feels like they misunderstood my issue
