The synthesis process ends after generating the cells. However, the cells are varying heights and don't interface well with existing cell place&route tools.

Preferred Solution

Create a cell placement flow that is integrated with the automated cell layout flow to create larger layouts that are DRC/LVS clean.

Possible Alternatives

Modify the automated cell layout flow to make it output cells that are compatible with existing place & route flows.

Additional context

Both of these are probably needed for full generalizability.
