Sub-group creation process based on feature selection

Create a component that retrieves, stores and assembles sub-groups of samples based on feature selection. Example is to look at mutations for a gene, and select non-mutated samples. These samples could be added to a group, or appended into an existing group. It would also be useful to merge groups via union or intersection operations.
