update main to a working rock for ckf-1.8, then cut a branch for ckf-1.8 #16

The rock in main is a non-functioning version of the ckf-1.7 rock. The track/ckf-1.7 rock is an updated and working version for ckf-1.7. Objective of this task is to update main using the lessons from 1.7 to create a new ckf-1.8 rock

Dod:

  • main has a working rock for ckf-1.8
  • create branch track/ckf-1.8 with this working rock for ckf-1.8
