Someone more knowledgeable has said:

the good package for round corners in kwin is [kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git] @alexjp

Also, lightly-kf6-git is pending switch to different fork.

I thought the purpose was for rounded corners. Either way, lightly-git will be updated soon.

and which fork lighlty-git will choose.

https://github.com/Bali10050/Lightly seems with active development.

lightly-kf6 is unmantained (the project's github readme says so).

The AUR PKGBUILD also seemed to work well here. Just did a very quick testing, but everything seems good to me, @xiota !

If primary issue is time, lightly-git will be updated soon, most likely to the Bali10050 fork.
