This is a JS library that allows you to use FFMPEG in JavaScript. This would potentially allow for some huge upgrades:

Convert supported video files to mp4 files for the Chromecast to use.
Play video at a lower quality due to bandwidth reasons.
Get the actual name/title/season/episode of a video file instead of using the clunky file name.
Get a screenshot of a video file to display as the background.
Lots more stuff?!
