Kata Containers are no longer supported via the bundle mechanism (or bundle containers-virt as outlined in the documentation) due to the most recent changes made to the bundle definition:
This means the page is no longer relevant (the docker runtime cannot be changed as the related kata packages cannot be installed)
I don't have a clear understanding of what the committers comment means
Contents can be installed via installers prvoided by the package upstreams instead
beyond that they are suggesting this functionality won't be being re-introduced into the swupd bundling/management (although perhaps there is a way to have the swupd tool support packages that im unfamiliar with; in which case perhaps the page needs to be updated to explicitly include the kata-* packages to install the appropriate runtime configuration)
