protobuf is installed but make is giving an error that it can't find protobuf runtime #90

I'm on fedora 41 and I installed all the libraries listed (except xorg-x11-utils, see #88) . I don't know if this is a bug or if I just fucked up somehow.

so I think, somehow, I forgor to recurse the submodules, because after I deleted the directory and cloned it again this isn't an issue
