The required behavior is that if liquidation is triggered, the lender should never receive more than the amount they are entitled to as per the conditions of the contract (ie, principal + interest). This primarily addresses the situation where the borrower is in default and the the lender is allowed to trigger liquidation as opposed to the value of the collateral collapsing.
