You can read the arrows like a sentence. If an arrow is pointing from A to B, then you would read it as "A has a B". If several arrows are pointing from A to B, then you read it as "A has many B". You can read the reverse of a single arrow as another single arrow, which would signify "B belongs to A". The reverse of several arrows is also a single arrow ("A has many B, but B has one A"), and where there are exceptions ("A has many B, and B also has many A"), double-headed arrows are used.
