This is not a good move.

  1. Packcheck is supposed to be universal and hence the better choice is bash
  2. If we are to write packcheck in haskell, we have to make sure to have compiled executables for all types of OS and all types of architectures. This is a maintainence overhead for a project that only a few folks use.
