What do you think of this - "only add things that are used to make other things". This excludes Firefox but still includes things like MediaWiki, for example. I think recommending not to add something like GIMP might annoy designers who use it to create things. How does that sound?
Also, where would this recommendation go? In the 'creating a technology' Wordpress page, I suppose?
