I know I've raised the Uber tech before, but as we start to think of CyIPT 2 it is worth looking at again

Yes. We could bring in @layik to deploy it. He has a working prototype here: http://www.geoplumber.com/deck

Note: the geoplumber framework can also provide a data output via an API. I think we should cost @layik on the next round of funding.
