Sony Alpha 9 III (ILCE-9M3) #16523
Comments
@norru thank you for contributing the sample set! |
@LebedevRI you are welcome, let me know if you need more. |
Thanks, been waiting for those samples! Please feel free to test the PR. |
Can you please upload the APS-C crop samples as well please? https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/2380/v1/en/contents/0414_apsc_shooting.html |
If you do, please contribute a new full set, please. |
Will do! I have had the camera for a few days only so I am not familiar with all the options yet! |
I have replaced my I don't have the full latest version of Darktable installed though, I've just "patched" the cameras manifest. |
|
Those are not supported, as the release notes clearly state. They are not really "raws", but demosaiced and downsampled linear images. Same applies to APS-C crop: the real APS-C raw is equivalent to "M" in image size and supported as such, but downsampled "S" of APS-C is not. Nonetheless, please upload all combinations of compression, crop, and size. |
I've just uploaded the APS-C set. As you anticipated, the "L" size is not available. |
(yes, i really did mean that you should re-take existing samples too.) |
I think Roman wants really a new full set of everything, shot the same way in relatively quick succession. |
It's from the same shoot, settings and pose are identical to the original set as I have kept the camera in place between the two. I can retake the lot again but the only difference between the APS-C and the full frame set would be a slightly tighter timestamp :). I suggest you have a look at the lot if you can and confirm. |
I couldn't quite tell if they are literally from the same position, @norru thank you for contributing the full sample set! |
Yes, unless I have accidentally bumped the camera without realizing (unlikely), they should be shot from the same identical position. Just let me know if it's not the case, or you have a doubt about it, and I'll upload a new set. |
Nah, i guess this is good-enough. Thank you. |

I have recently acquired a Sony Alpha 9M3, which appears to be at least partially supported by RawTherapee (uncompressed mode) but not by DarkTable yet. It would be good enough if I could read the same format for a start.
I have submitted a set of 5 ARWs (one per compression mode) to raw.pixls.us.
