Open Source Event
Todays team event will focus on Open Source. Why Open Source you might ask? The motivation behind spending half a day on open source is that we are very dependent on open source when we build solutions. By giving you some time to reflect and focus on open source, it is our hope is that everyone becomes more aware of the role open source plays in our everyday life, and how grateful we should be for all the many open source maintainers, that makes our jobs easier.
The goal for today is in essences to spend some time learning more about some open source projects and hopefully contributing something back, if not actual code then at least raised awareness and appreciation 🙏.
Group Work
The groups will be organized around interest instead of randomization like last time. For that to work I need as many as possible to post some ideas in the ideas section before Wednesday.
An idea should be something 2-4 people can work on for 3 hours. No solo missions are allowed. There are no limits except it must have something to do with open source, and you must be able to present something from your work in 5-10 minutes during last hour of the team day. Here's some examples of what an idea could be, but feel free to be more creative:
Please post your ideas before Wednesday, and feel free to engage in discussion around the ideas here on GitHub before Wednesday.
On Wednesday we will arrange so that everyone gets to work on some idea that they find interesting. Hopefully we will get many ideas, and if so, we might not be enough for all ideas to be used this time, but then we have something for another time.
Also please respect that you have to post your idea so everyone can see it, if you have premade groups please consider the fact that their might be additional people that want in on your idea. Multiple groups can potentially work on the same idea/concept.
