One of the new features ask the question “At what ZIP Code will you be taking the majority of classes?”. When you are using this feature, an error is occurring that the previous year 2017 HOA rate are appearing not the current 2018 rate. I have provided several snap shots; the first snap shot is showing FSU-Tallahassee and FSU-Panama. The second snap shot is of WEAMs, which is displaying the current monthly housing rates going back to 2009. The third but final pair of snap shots are of the error that occurs when you use this feature. When you put in the zip code for Tallahassee the previous year monthly housing rates appears which is $1,268. Which is not correct, the current 2018 rate is $1,311 should appear due to that is what the individual will be getting paid. The VA rate applies if you have used benefits prior to January 1, 2018. If you do not use benefits prior to January 1, 2018, the DOD rate for 2018 should appear which is $1,242 for Tallahassee zip code.
In addition, the DoD rate should appear as primary rate unless the following question "Did you use your Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit before January 1, 2018?" is answered Yes.

For what its worth this data is not currently populated by any data sets in the GIDS. Ideally this would be a data set that would be updated by VA EDU and not require a hard coding change to update.
Until this is managed by EDU it will continue to be a maintenance issue for DS.
