This package seems perfect for my needs:

Pure-go
uses netlink instead of fork

The problem is that I can't figure out how to get started. My limited goal is to be able to manipulate an ipset. Add ips, remove ips and so on.

Did you check out the tests? This test shows how to add IP addresses.

Looks like I have a bunch of reading to do. I have no idea what that means.
