Publication opportunities

Dear participants,

Some of you have inquired about publication opportunities related to the competition. There will indeed be such opportunities, which we'll clarify below.

First, here is a summary of the NeurIPS guidelines that we've received with respect to publication opportunities.

We would recommend everyone to have their winners post papers on arxiv and link to those papers from competition websites as your competitions “proceedings”. In addition, there will be a PLMR volume dedicated to competitions, just like there has been for the previous conferences (see example). The volume would consist of competition reports, one report per competition, with a page limit of ~14 pages, where competition organizers are encouraged to add winning participants as co-authors. The deadline for the report will be somewhere in early 2022.

We will follow those guidelines, that is:

• by the end of the competition, every participant is encouraged to write a short report describing their approach (2-4 pages) and post it on ArXiv. We will perform a quick review of those paper, and then publish the official proceedings of the competition on our website, which will include all participants who wish to appear.
• in addition, each winners (one for each task) will be allocated 2-3 pages in the main competition report to describe their contribution, which will be published in the PMLR volume "NeurIPS 2021 competition".

PS: additional information from NeurIPS below

A new addition to the NeurIPS 2021 Competition track will be a joint poster session where participants of all competitions can share and discuss their results. There will be publication opportunities for competition reports co-authored by organizers and participants.
