Rice cookers behave a lot differently than immersion heaters. Here's what I'm up to, but hardware is different than what you're doing.

Hey,

Can you give me a bit of help to get eguists original code to send more info to serial?
Specifically, I want to see curent temp and set temp (ie the usual screen output)
I think my MAX7219 is faulty, but I want to check that everything else is working before I get another one.

cheers

Lance

I thought i had some problems with my display. It worked before i mounted all in a box, but i could not get the display to work after mounting it in the box. After ordering a new one and having the exact same problem with that one i found out that data in != data out. Stupid mistake on my part, but do a quick check before potentially wasting a lot of time on the same mistake @lancehouse :-)

nope, I've checked all the pins, and also tried the test files for a 7 segment display in the LedControl package. It works fora few seconds then starts printing garbage before packing it in completely.
I'd like to test the sous-vide script without the screen, mostly just so I can try it out without the screen while waiting for a replacement, but I'm not sure exactly what to serial.print and and where, as I'm very much a beginner at this!
