Maybe the following command helps:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

Background

First-try out by PM showed that

  • Default password is ai-lab.
  • On the German keyboard, the minus character "-" is on key "?ß"
  • After creating the VM the user can only change the keyboard layout after logging in.
