I am currently using Chewie for video playback, and I would like to suggest a feature enhancement. Specifically, it would be great if the control UI visibility (showControls) and subtitle display functionality could be separated.
In my use case, I would like to disable the video control UI (using showControls: false), but still retain the ability to display subtitles on the video. Currently, disabling the controls also seems to disable subtitle rendering, which is not ideal for my requirements.
Could you consider adding an option to allow subtitles to remain visible even when showControls is set to false? This would provide more flexibility in controlling the player’s user interface and subtitle management.
Thank you for your work on this package!
Best regards,
