Although it is a feature that is rarely present in monsters (I can only remember golems now), damage absorption (the ability to convert a specific type of damage into healing) is a type of damage modification that cannot currently be reproduced, except manually. Even so, it is something that is easy to forget during a game session and it would be interesting if the system could manage it. Since the system already has options for resistance, invulnerability, etc., I believe it is reasonable to implement this functionality, so that when using the damage application options in chat messages, the system already takes into account that a given monster has this feature.

Unless such a property should have its own bypasses, it's a trivial addition to the traits.dm object - adding an inverted property (a Set) of the types that heal rather than damage.

I did a quick search and didn't find any monsters that have any kind of bypass for this ability. Most of them are campaign setting monsters, in the 2014 Monster Manual it is a feature only of Golems and Shambling Mound. So, in short, unless this is changed by the 2025 Monster Manual, there is no need for a bypass.
