[Feature Request] Hide edit box art, but not background

I'd like to keep the black background for the edit box but hide the art around the edit box.

Is there any way to do this currently and this is just me being stupid?
I don't really like the appearance of the art, but I have a hard time seeing what I'm typing without the black background
