Create reference documentation

Reference documentation is textual documentation on each available class and method offered by the library, preferably generated automatically from docstrings.

Decide upon a documentation system to use (e.g. Sphinx) and where to host it (e.g. readthedocs.org?).

Provide instructions on how to build the documentation.
