Alternatives origin/gh-pages:CURRENT

Using the CURRENT file on gh-pages is a little cumbersome¹.

This thread for discussing alternatives.

Goals

• Ideally we wouldn't require a checkout of a GitTD repo at all to function
• Metadata is still part of the repo though

Alternatives

1. An annotated git-tag where the “message” portion is the current issue number
2. Commit CURRENT to the main branch, but in such a way that we replace that commit each time so history doesn’t get out of hand with meaningless data
