Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I use CherryTree for taking notes during lectures and find the Symbol Auto Replace feature invaluable (e.g., --> becoming →). However, the current system has a fixed set of symbol replacements. I often type Greek letters in class notes and use IPA in worldbuilding projects. Many users likely need characters in other languages, logical symbols, etc.
Describe the solution you'd like
I propose a "customizable macro" system for symbol replacements. Users could define the symbols and macros they want from within the special characters dialog of the preferences menu, so the system would be flexible and convenient. Additional conveniences could include the ability to export and share replacement tables, and use separate tables for different nodes.
Thank you for your consideration!
