TL:DR: The Conditional Token Framework has many potential use-cases, but to experience those use cases code needs to be written. That’s the deal, write code which facilitates use-cases on the Conditional Token Framework and Gnosis will sponsor it.
What is the CTF
Conditional Tokens are a new, application-agnostic, asset class designed to facilitate the creation of highly liquid prediction markets. They enable combinatorial outcomes for high-resolution information discovery through prediction markets.
The Conditional Tokens Framework allows you to:
Make simple markets on the likelihood of a given event.
Make complex markets about how the likelihood of an event is affected by any other event.
Trade any asset under the condition that a specific event occurs.
Prediction markets are the main use case for Conditional Tokens, Omen and Polimarket are two examples of projects built on the Conditional Tokens Framework. Conditional tokens have a wide range of additional use cases, from awarding access rights in games to paying milestone-based and social impact bonds.
What are CTF Grants
Conditional Token Framework Grants is a grants program with the purpose of incentivizing the Ethereum community to build functionality which facilitates use cases.
Scope
There is a lot of work to be done regarding the Conditional Token Framework. This grants program is for anything that facilitates a use case for example:
Enable a DAO to create a prediction market
Build an adapter for MakerDAO price oracles (An adapter is a smart contract which will read on chain data and use it to resolve a market)
Build a simple Automated Market Maker
Build a twitter bot to report on Conditional Token Framework Events
An interface to facilitate conditional markets
Build a Dune analytics dashboard for the CTF
Who can participate?
Anyone who can either code software which facilitates infrastructure or designs who can build clickable prototypes that are clear and well defined enough to be used by another grant applicant to code from.
Grant payouts
There are two parts of paying out grants. The first is the grant payment which will be a transfer of DAI based on hitting grant milestones.
The second is a conditional token payment. When the grant is completed a condition relating to the grant will be created and conditional tokens will be minted to the value of ⅓ of the grant amount denominated in GNO.
For example, say a grant with a value of 3000 DAI was granted to a team for integration which allows a Moloch DAO to create conditional tokens. When the grant is completed successfully, the team will be paid 3000 DAI and 1000 Conditional Tokens for a “yes” outcome.
The condition will be related to the usage of the Moloch DAO integration, for example, “Will 20 prediction markets be created by a Moloch DAO before (3 Months after the grant is completed). The conditional tokens can be claimed for GNO collateral if Realt.io and in case of a dispute Keros finds that yes, the integration has been used more than 20 times.
Grant levels
Low complexity: $750 (1-3 days of work)
Medium complexity: $1,500 (3-10 days of work)
High complexity: $3,000 (>10 days of work)
We understand preparing a proposal is time-consuming so to save time reach out the Gnosis prediction market team to run a rough draft of your proposal. After the first round of feedback:
