Can we get a Blender export plugin for Linwarrior? Blender is the premier Open Source 3D Modeller and it makes sense to support it for building levels and mechs.

Hi DMJC, thank you for your interest and sorry for my late reply. I have seen the fork you did and your plans. I may have some time and muse eventually but I would need time to catch up before anyway. Please go ahead.
Years back then I wasn't able to use Blender and had problems with the bone/joint axes when trying to model and export. But other than that (as you already found out) any md5mesh exporter should work. Now knowing a bit more about blender but havn't tried again: When making a new skelleton I think one just needs to make sure the relevant joint axes are aligned correctly (applied/zero rotation). Guess the other outdated 3d modeller was zeroing them by default and had no option to set bone rotations anyway.
For now I can add the link to the blender plugin you are using here and close the issue for now. Maybe would prefer to "softlink" to the plugin/-project with documentation over including the static source directly.
