Repeated Keypress Timer is Too Short #90
Comments
It’s definitely a bug, it’s supposed to pick up your system key repeat setting, but that’s hidden quite a few levels deep in the Settings app, so most users won’t have it set. Therefore it’s supposed to use a default, but the default seems to be too fast. As a workaround, you can change it manually by searching for "key repeat" in Settings. Once you've changed it, it’ll no longer use the default. If you're happy with the default setting, you can toggle it up and back down for instance - then it’ll be set intentionally by you rather than using the built-in default value. |
I am also experiencing this issue. I have followed the instructions outlined above, and have changed both the Key Repeat Interval and Delay Until Repeat values to be significantly larger than the default. Despite this, I still experience multiple key presses seemingly at random. |
Same issue, iPad Pro M1 15.0.2 Dopamine, key repeat setting doesn’t fix it for me, it works with external keyboards but not the apple magic keyboard |
I am using NewTerm3 on Palera1n iOS 15. I noticed a problem when using a physical keyboard: when I press a key, it will often double- or triple-press. I presume this is because NewTerm is trying to interpret me holding down a key as wanting to press said key multiple times, but the delay for doing so is nearly instant. This makes the terminal borderline unusable with a physical keyboard.
Please let me know if you need any more information (screenshots, clearer explanation, etc.) and thank you.
