Beware, in a very near future, levels 5 and 6 will be swapped! If you have lesson plans outside of Hedy depending on these levels, these might need changing soon. We will swap the adventures in Hedy itself in all supported languages.

The PR to perform this swap is ready and will be merged soon (#787) I am linking the PR here so it is easier for translators to see what changes need to be checked or replicated. I also want to share our reasoning here for swapping the levels because it was an interesting consideration.

When designing Hedy I was already doubting the placement of calculations a but, I also considered it before the if even because it does unlock some nice things to build like a small calculator or a simple counting game or song. However I think I did not want too much emphasis on maths to not strengthen the idea too much that math and programming are related.

So with the calculations after if, I thought it would be wise to place calculations between the level on if and the level about repeat to give kids more time to practice with the repeat before changing it into the block structure, following DG5. However, in lessons we observed that (as expected of course) repeating only one line of code is quite limited and kids wanted to create bigger blocks. It was frustrating then to put the calculations in as a brake, and that also prevents us from using the limited power of the flat repeat as a learning opportunity. Ultimately, we might have misinterpreted DG5, we should also a lot of practice "before syntax changes" and in this case one could argue that it is more the concept here that changes rather than the syntax.

Placing if behind calculations is more sensible from the perspective of DG5, because if and calculations are a logical combination (checking the answer of a simple calculation, for example) the new level 5 allows for more practice. Checking a calculation is also a meaningful programs (contrary to stuf like x = 5; if x == 5, so we get a bit of DG6 too!
