Working with multi-bit inputs and outputs

I'd like to avoid creating circuits like this:

I've read about general circuits in the documentation, but that is not what I'm looking for. I know I can create a multi-bit input/output by changing the "Data Bits" parameter, but how can I split, for example, an 8-bit input/output into 8 separate wires?

Nevermind, I found the splitter/merger component in Components => Wires.
