It would be exciting, and useful, to show the visible peer count in the installed app view. Useful, in that I know that I can't fetch any new data unless another peer is there to gossip with. Exciting, in that I'm more likely to engage with an app if I know someone else is currently using it.
Another metric to show would be "time of last gossip". If I see that things are changing, I will want to open the app to go see what changed. A bit like the red dot on mobile apps, but a bit more informative and bit less insidious.
These feel particularly useful at a time when hApps are just starting to gain traction, where perhaps there are lots of people who would be excited to be interacting over a hApp, but the actual occurrence of meeting in real-time in a hApp is quite low. This small catalyst could foster more realtime interactions.
I know this would require some support from Holochain in the form of a few small features, but I think it would be worth it.
