v3.8.0 released 🎉️

We are happy to announce the release of v3.8.0. Thanks to @khaeru for helping with the process!

Some highlights of this release round include:

• We now officially support Python 3.12
• You can now store the versions of the Python packages you use in the GDX file to make troubleshooting easier
• message_ix now includes the LPdiag tool, thanks to @marek-iiasa, @measrainsey, and @khaeru

Once you migrate, you will notice that we have streamlined the locations of some functionality in our code:

    ixmp.reporting → ixmp.report
    ixmp.reporting.computations → ixmp.report.operator
    ixmp.utils → ixmp.util
    message_ix.reporting → message_ix.report
    message_ix.reporting.computations → message_ix.report.operator

While the old locations still work for now, we strongly recommend using the new locations at least for new code. As always, please notify us of any problems you encounter when installing/running the new versions in this discussion or by opening an issue 😃
