Share the gpkg used for the map.
This will be added as layer to and merely used as guide for point selection in MyMaps.
Nothing related to website but rather to the selection of sampling localities

Thanks!

Note to myself: it refers to the historical data as shown in Historische waarnemingen layer. Such layer is always on the fly populated using the GBIF API.
However, these data are unlikely to change. I can therefore provide such data as geopackage based on a R script (using rgbif package) to run just one time. As this geopackage file and the R script to generate it have nothing to do with the website, I would put the R code in a gist, and the resulting geopackage as well, if possible. Otherwise, I will save it locally.

I uploaded a public gist containing:

  • The code to generate the geopackage, download_gbif_data_export_gpkg.R
  • The geopackage historische_waarnemingen.gpkg

Coordinates are using wgs84 as Coordinate Reference System.

@margotvermeylen: can you successfully download and use the geopackage from the gist? If yes, please close the comment. If not, leave a comment, please.

@fjasteen, @margotvermeylen: I think this is solved. If yes, please close it. Otherwise, let me know if something has still to be done, thanks!
