So recently (within the past two weeks?) a change was made that shoved advertising into the "What's happening" panel. I noticed it because I have that panel set to Japan, and suddenly was inundated with English-language content and film advertisements. Would it be possible to remove the advertisements while leaving the actual algorithmic content?

Well, looks like this request is moot because Musk went and replaced the whole freaking Trending panel with an "Explore" ad space.

Reopening as the "Explore" ad space was reverted, but then despite a few brief wonderful days of the old trending panel coming back, the changes written about in the original issue have been reinstated.
