when starting system-maintenance, the module do not updating the feed.
is that intentional?

I actually just pushed a revision to this, which is in a new branch called 'feed-cachefiles'. This module needs an overhaul as it was extremely slow when dealing with large numbers of products, so we are now going to try it with individual product cache files.

However, in answer to your question, it was not intentional. I will try and work that in, but I am going to test out this new method first.
