For the ratio: Pick iron value then use average of nitrate values: >within +/- 5m depth above 100m; >within +/- 10m depth below 100m. This might be "tricky" to program. It might be worth discussing.
Problems with ratio: revisit
For multiple values at close depths: Are there separate down and up casts (data gathered "on the way down" or "on the way up")? Are bottle numbers specified for each row in raw data? Every sample should have a bottle ID so we should be able to choose iron and nitrate based on same bottle ID. Please explore and make notes to try and understand why there are multiple values at close depths. Again - probably worth discussing with the raw files in front of us. (We'll keep all data for now, but knowing more about why there are multiple values would be helpful. )
I've gotten the data with the bottle information. I started investigating one of the double points (GA03, station 9) At depth 135.2, there are two different values for iron. They have different bottle numbers, but they both have the same sampling device (UCCTD) and the same cast identifier number.
