It will be a great help, if it can show Connected Clients count in the Dashboard.
And show Clients list if clicked on the count.

That is indeed a nice idea, but would take some time until I have something up, since some research is still required.

Do you have some ideas on how to kick this off?

I would love to help but I am very new to this Home Assistant and IoT things.
This lock-downs made me to play with Home Assistant.

The challenge is not how to get the list itself, but more on how to present it. We would need a web-ui to present it. That's the most work I would say.
