Selective reminding task

Hello, I am writing a selective reminding task which is comprised of:

Block 1
a) Presenting a list of 12 words
b) the participant recalls the entire list of words
Block 2
a) Present the list of words NOT recalled
b) the participant recalls the entire list of 12 words
Blocks 3--5 the same

I am not able to create a list in Block 1 for word presentation in Block 2.
Can anyone help, please? I have tried using custom sampling but cannot get it to work.

Here is something that I have tried and which does not work. I can correctly calculate the sample of trials I want to present in this block using the "on_start" function, but the custom sample presents all 12 trials.

OK, I figured out a way to do it.
I created a global variable which is a list of numbers from 0 to 11. If a word is recalled in one block, the value for that word gets changed to -99. Then I have a function for my stimulus which keeps track of a trial index and checks my global variable to see if it contains a number of -99. If it contains a number, then a word is presented, if not a crosshair is presented. I added the same function to the stimulus duration and the fixation cross after each trial. At the end of the recall period, the global variable is reset.
The trial counter is not reset but is checked using a modulus of the number of trials per block.
