What is missing?

There have been changes to the x-kubernetes-list-map-keys and x-kubernetes-list-type generation in the controller-runtime since 0.10.0 (as well as changes in the Kubernetes).

Investigate if there's anymore need and if the preserveUnknownFields is in in the correct place for the json.RawMessage.

Why is this needed?

We only remove half of the xkeys, from properties, but not from the claims. That's not consistent.
