Enable/Disable Use Timer Sensor

Can you please advise if there is a sensor one can use to enable/disable the "use timer" option under work mode 1?

I would like to use work mode 2 during the day and work mode 1 at night, and would like to have the timer enabled/disabled using an automation.

Hi,
It might be register 248? You can try the following custom sensor:

SENSORS += SwitchRWSensor(248, "Use Timer", on=255)

Let me know if this works...

Thanks a lot for the swift reply. I did what you said, but the addon crashes after adding the custom sensor with a "Name Error".

Ensure that you import SwitchRWSensor, it's probably not imported yet... (there might already be other classes imported from that module in which case you can add it to the list)

When the "Use timer" box is ticked manually on the inverter I get the following output:

In that case I would add bitmask=1 and on=1 (instead of 255 and no bitmask)

Yes sir. I'd like HA to toggle the "use Timer" like an on/off switch

you have to add the "use_timer" sensor in the config.

I then added a template switch in my configuration.yaml file (below) to be able to switch the timer on/off. Works like a charm.

Ah. Fabulous ! This looks great ! I'm only 3 weeks into the rabbit hole that is HA. Haven't gotten to the templating bit yet. But this looks like the answer to my question. I'll give it a go soonest

My use case : My battery seldom gets up to 100% during the winter months. And at 100% is when it performs its self maintenance tasks like cell balancing etc. So ideally, once or twice a month I'd like HA to run a task which turns off the inverter timer so that the battery can charge up, balance etc. Then a few hours later it can switch said timer back on and all is normal
